Maternity disability definition

Maternity disability as used in this article shall mean the illness or disability of the woman employee as a result of the pregnancy or delivery of the child. “Child care” is leave other than maternity disability and is treated as personal leave of absence under Section C of this Article.

Examples of Maternity disability in a sentence

  • Maternity disability leave shall not be extended beyond the close of the school year in which it is initially granted for non-tenured employees.

  • Maternity disability shall include any disability related to the pregnancy prior to the birth of the child, disability related to childbirth, or any disability to the mother originating from childbirth after the birth of the child.

  • Maternity disability leave shall be granted until the end of the school year in which the birth occurs.

  • Maternity disability leave shall commence and terminate at the discretion of the employee and her personal physician and shall be in accordance with state law including use of all available leave such as shared leave, sick leave and other applicable family leave.

  • Maternity disability leave is paid in accordance with the sick leave provisions of this Agreement and granted to the extent that the employee has sick leave days available under the same provisions.

  • Maternity disability leave may be taken at any time prior to or following the birth of a child, as provided for by law.

  • Maternity disability leave will be the same as any other illness or injury leave as required by Federal and State Law.

  • Maternity disability leave for the purpose of bearing children shall be granted in accordance with applicable federal and state law.

  • At the termination of Maternity (disability) Leave, upon employee request, additional leave (unpaid) may be granted under the Child Care Leave provisions of this Agreement.

  • Maternity disability leave is granted to a female employee upon receipt of a physician‟s letter identifying the period of time the employee is temporarily unable to work due to pregnancy, childbirth, or pregnancy related medical complications.
