When we pragmatically summarize our results for the most studied and applied LCLC materials DSCG and SSY on com- mercially available rubbed PI substrates, we find that Triton X-100 is the best performing surfactant.
SSY with Triton X-100 at the same concentra- tion also forms a homogeneous in-plane aligned monodomain (Figure 2b) with the orientation of the LCLC stacks along the rubbing direction (Figure S2, Supporting Information).
