Spot Beam definition

Spot Beam means a geographical area on the earth surface within THURAYA Coverage Area over which the specified satellite performance criteria are met (G/T, Isolation) and onto which the power from THURAYA Satellite payload is focused.
Spot Beam means satellite antenna directivity whose main lobe encompasses significantly less than the earth’s surface that is within line-of-sight view of the satellite;
Spot Beam means satellite antenna directivity whose main lobe encompasses significantly less than the earth’s surface that is within line-of-sight view of the satellitewhich may be designed so as to improve system resource efficiency with respect to geographical distribution of user earth stations;

Examples of Spot Beam in a sentence

  • The number of the Subbands that INMARSAT will be entitled to use in each Spot Beam within the THURAYA Coverage Area will be in accordance with ANNEX 2.

  • At the conclusion of the test, Rainbow DBS, with assistance of Lockheed ▇▇▇▇▇▇ Corporation, shall deliver a report on the test results to Buyer which report shall state the Actual CONUS Beam Operational Capability and the Actual Spot Beam Operational Capability based on the results of the in-orbit tests.
