SPLIT LEVEL DWELLING definition

SPLIT LEVEL DWELLING means a dwelling in which the first floor above the finished grade is so constructed as to create two (2) or more different levels, the vertical distance between such levels being always less than the full storey. For the purpose of this By- Law, a split level dwelling house shall be considered as a one (1) storey dwelling house.
SPLIT LEVEL DWELLING means a dwelling unit constructed in such a manner that habitable accommodation is provided in adjacent areas on different floor levels.
SPLIT LEVEL DWELLING means a dwelling that is designed and constructed to create no more than four different levels, where at least two levels make up the first storey and all other levels are considered to be basement, and the vertically distance between such levels being always less than the full storey, but in no case can the vertical difference be less than 0.6 m (2 ft.). For the purpose of this By-law, a split level dwelling house shall be considered as one-storey dwelling. (Z.-1-98604)
