Splicing means the joining of two separate lines. It also means the retracing of the unlaid strand of the line back through its own strands in the standing part of the line.

Examples of Splicing in a sentence

  • A night differential shall be paid to employees for each scheduled night tour worked in the amount of ten (10) percent of the employee’s basic day’s pay except for Cable Splicing Technicians, Operating employees and certain part-time employees identified in paragraph d.

  • Cable Splicing Technicians scheduled to work less than four (4) consecutive night tours in a series of consecu- tive scheduled work days shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (11/2) times the basic hourly rate without the night differential for such night tours worked.

  • This overtime is voluntary unless the job is declared an emergency by the Cable Splicing Supervisor or the Communications Line Supervisor II.
