Specialty Board definition

Specialty Board means those specialty boards that are members of the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association.
Specialty Board as used in this section, means a national specialty board of, or recognized by, the American Board of Medical Specialties, the American Osteopathic Association, the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, or the American Board of Dentistry.
Specialty Board means a professional, independent entity that provides for competency testing of didactic and clinical skills of applicants and granting of certifications in post-doctoral chiropractic specialty areas upon completing an approved post-doctoral curricula.

Examples of Specialty Board in a sentence

  • The Program Director will inform the resident of the effect the leave will have on the resident’s completion of the Program and their ability to satisfy the requirements of their Specialty Review Committee and/or Specialty Board.

  • It will be the responsibility of the Program Director to determine if this leave of absence affects the requirements of the individual Specialty Board and/or program and if additional time will be required to advance in or complete the program.

  • Residents who are out shall not have to make up time except where required by Specialty Board standards.

  • The granting of a leave of absence or other time away from the training program does not relieve the House Officer of the obligation to complete all program-specific reappointment requirements, ACGME Program Requirements or Specialty Board eligibility requirements.

  • Each U.S. Medical Specialty Board has minimum time requirements in residency training for Board eligibility.

  • If Resident’s time off for vacation, illness, and/or leave of absences during the Term of this Agreement exceeds a total of thirty (30) days, the Program Director, in his or her sole and absolute discretion, shall determine whether the Resident shall be required to make-up the time he or she has been absent in order to meet “Medical Specialty Board Certification Requirements” as adopted by the American Board of Medical Specialties (“ABMS”).

  • Makeup, repeat or additional training requirements may be required as determined by the Program Director and Specialty Board requirements.


More Definitions of Specialty Board

Specialty Board means a certification board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the American Osteopathic Association's Bureau of Osteopathic Specialties (AOA-BOS).
Specialty Board means (i) as to Physicians, that certifying agency or board relating to a medical specialty (or subspecialty) recognized or authorized by the American Board of Medical Specialties or the Advisory Board for Osteopathic Specialists of the American Osteopathic Association to issue certificates of special recognition of physicians’ training and expertise in a specialty or subspecialty, (ii) as to Podiatrists, the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine (if the Podiatrist has limited his/her practice to non-surgical procedures) or the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry, and (iii) as to Dentists, that certifying board recognized by the Council on Dental Education and Licensure of the American Dental Association, or the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
