Specialised means specialised for a school site or otherwise specialised to a public or community use or public work (including education purposes).

  • Specialist means either a physician or other health care professional who practices in a specific area other than those practiced by primary care providers, or a properly licensed, certified or registered individual health care provider whose practice is limited to rendering mental health services. For purposes of cost-share, this definition of “specialist” does not apply to dentists. BCBSAZ does not require you to obtain an authorization or referral to see a specialist.

Air fresheners do not include products that are used on the human body, products that function primarily as cleaning products (as indicated on a product label) or as toilet/urinal care products, disinfectant products claiming to deodorize by killing germs on surfaces, or institutional or industrial disinfectants when offered for sale solely through institutional and industrial channels of distribution. Air fresheners do include spray disinfectants and other products that are expressly represented for use as air fresheners, except institutional and industrial disinfectants when offered for sale through institutional and industrial channels of distribution. To determine whether a product is an air freshener, all verbal and visual representations regarding product use on the label or packaging and in the product's literature and advertising may be considered. The presence of, and representations about, a product's fragrance and ability to deodorize (resulting from surface application) shall not constitute a claim of air freshening.

  • Esthetician means a person licensed under this chapter to engage in the practice of esthetics.

  • Ambulatory review means utilization review of health care services performed or provided in an outpatient setting.

  • Biotechnology means any technological application that uses biological systems, living organisms, or derivatives thereof, to make or modify products or processes for specific use.

  • Paraprofessional means a person who does not have an academic degree related to the scope of treatment or support services being provided but performs prescribed functions under the general supervision of that discipline.

  • Physiotherapist means a person who is a) duly registered with the Supplementary Medical Professions Council of Hong Kong pursuant to the Supplementary Medical Professions Ordinance (Cap. 359 of the Laws of Hong Kong) or in relation to jurisdictions outside of Hong Kong, a body of equivalent standing; and b) legally authorised for practising physiotherapy in the locality where the treatment is provided to an Insured, but in no circumstance shall include the Insured, the Policyholder, an insurance intermediary or an employer, employee, Immediate Family Member or business partner(s) of the Policyholder and/or the Insured(s).

  • Seaplane means an aeroplane capable normally of taking off from and alighting solely on water;

  • Ambulatory means the condition of a person who immediately and without aid of another is physically or mentally capable of traveling a normal path to safety, including the ascent and descent of stairs.

  • School nurse means a registered professional nurse with Maine Department of Education certification for school nursing.

  • Cosmetology means any one and/or combination of practices generally and usually performed by and known as the occupation of beauty culturalist, cosmeticians, cosmetologists or hairdressers or any person holding him or herself out as practicing cosmetology in or upon a place or premises. Cosmetology shall include, but otherwise not be limited to, the following: embellishing, arranging, dressing, curling, waving, cleansing, beautifying, cutting, singeing, bleaching, coloring, or similar work upon the hair of any person by any means and with hands or mechanical or electrical apparatuses, devices or appliances or by use of cosmetic preparations, antiseptics, tonics, lotions, creams or otherwise, massaging, cleansing, stimulating, manipulating, exercising, beautifying or similar work, the scalp, face, neck, arms, hands, bust or upper part of the body, or manicuring, pedicuring or sculpting the nails of any person.
