Spalled definition
Spalled means circular or oval depression in concrete resulting from separation of a portion of the surface, at a fracture and usually part of the rim perpendicular to the surface.

Spalled or loose blocks of pavement and pavement cracks wider than 3/8” may be deemed justification for extending or adding new areas to the “Remove and Replace Asphalt Concrete Pavement”.
