soluble solids means per cent. by weight of soluble solids as determined by the refractometric method corrected to 20OC using the International Sucrose Scale but making no correction for insoluble solids or seeds;
soluble solids means the refractometric sucrose value of the juice extracted from four equal cores taken at right angles to the longitudinal axis and at a point half way between the stem and blossom end of the fruit. The soluble solids requirements for any lot of papayas shall average not less than 11.5% soluble solids, provided not more than 10%, by count, of the fruits in the lot have soluble solids less than 10.5%....'Internal hard lumps' are hard lumpy masses in the flesh of the fruit....'Catfaces' are structural deformities of the fruit characterized by a scar, usually sunken, which extends downward from the stem on one side of the fruit and causes light to serious malformation....'Brown spot' is a disease characterized by brownish green to brownish slate colored superficial spots, which are irregular to round in shape and which frequently have a corky pimple near the center....'Injury' means any defect which appreciably affects the appearance or the edible or shipping quality of the fruit."
