Soloist an instrumentalist (other than a Featured Musician) performing a solo or solos with an orchestra during any musical selection or an unaccompanied solo work (excluding brief unaccompanied novelty or sound-effect bits).
Soloist shall describe an ARTIST who sings only as a soloist and is not a member of the chorus.
Soloist. Dancer" shall be defined as an ARTIST who has been so designated by the EMPLOYER in the Standard Artist's Contract for Employment and/or the public announcement, programs or other literature issued by the EMPLOYER.

  • Notwithstanding the above, after approval by the Artists involved in Principal or Soloist roles, previously recorded material may be used without payment for the purpose of promoting and publicizing upcoming theatrical presentations provided that no payment is required by ACTRA and provided that no other person or persons involved with the production receive payment.
