Solid waste combustor definition

Solid waste combustor means an enclosed device that uses controlled combustion, the primary purpose of which is to thermally break down solid, liquid, or gaseous combustible solid wastes to an ash residue that contains little or no combustible material. A solid waste combustor specifically includes any facility that uses incineration, gasification, or pyrolysis to break down solid waste.

  • Solid waste means all solid waste, including construction debris, hazardous waste, excess cement/ concrete, wrapping materials, timber, cans, drums, wire, nails, food and domestic waste (e.g. plastic packets and wrappers);
