SOI standards definition

SOI standards means the secretary of interior’s historic preservation professional qualifications standards as expanded and revised in 1997 (62 FR 33708). The standards specify the academic degrees or comparable training, professional experience and the products and activities that demonstrate that the professional is able to perform competent and professionally credible work in archaeology, architectural history, historic architecture, historic landscape architecture, history, cultural anthropology or one of the other historic preservation disciplines.

Examples of SOI standards in a sentence

  • Each Preservation Professional will submit a CV or resume that outlines their years of experience and other information relevant to the SOI standards to the SHPO for review and concurrence that the individual meets these minimum requirements.

  • The Marine Corps will ensure that all work on Hangar 1, summarized in Attachment 16, shall conform to SOI standards for rehabilitation.

  • The NRCS-Wyoming CRS/Archaeologist/Historian who meets SOI standards shall provide technical historic property and resource information to the NRCS-Wyoming State Conservationist for use in Section 106 findings and determinations after appropriate consultations with the SHPO, Native American Indian Tribes listed in Appendix E; Consulting Tribes, and discussions with the landowner.

  • NRCS Oregon shall ensure each State and Basin CRS meets SOI standards for archaeology, history, or architectural history, as appropriate, and require each CRS overseeing cultural resource work to complete NRCS Cultural Resources Training Modules 1 through 9 and the ACHP’s Section 106 Essentials course, or a course with similar content if approved by the NRCS FPO.

  • This SPPA applies only when there is a Federal Preservation Officer (FPO) in the NRCS National Headquarters (NHQ) who meets the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards (48 FR 44716) (SOI standards).

  • This person does not need to meet SOI standards for archaeology, however they must consult an SOI-qualified archaeologist prior to and during all monitoring activities.

  • This SPPA applies only where there is staffing or access to a Cultural Resources Specialist (CRS) in the NRCS Oregon State Office who meets the SOI standards.

  • If an undertaking does not meet the SOI standards, the project will follow the process outlined in Stipulation IV.

  • Each contract will be overseen by qualified NPS contract supervisors and project designers that meet SOI standards.

  • NRCS Oregon shall ensure the contractors and consultants meet the SOI standards.
