Sleep mode definition

Sleep mode means a low power mode that a computer is capable of entering automatically after a period of inactivity or by manual selection. In this mode the computer will respond to a wake event. Where Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) standards are applicable, sleep mode usually correlates to ACPI system level G1/S3 (suspend to RAM) state;
Sleep mode means a function of a device that blanks partially or totally the indications after a defined period of non use, in order to save the screen or to display information other than weights.
Sleep mode means a low-power mode that the computer enters automatically after a period of inactivity or by manual selection. A computer with sleep capability can quickly “wake” in response to network connections or user interface devices with a latency of less than or equal to five seconds from initiation of the wake event to the system becoming fully usable, including rendering of display. For systems where ACPI standards are applicable, sleep mode is ACPI System Level S3 (suspend to RAM) state. Some computers utilize an alternative sleep mode to ACPI S3.

More Definitions of Sleep mode

Sleep mode means the operational mode of a display that is (i) connected to a power source, and (ii) has been placed into a low-power mode by receiving a signal from a connected device (e.g. computer, game console, or set-top box) or by cause of an internal function such as a sleep timer or occupancy sensor. Sleep Mode is considered a “soft” low-power condition, in that the display can be brought out of Sleep Mode by receiving a signal from a connected device or by cause of an internal function.
Sleep mode means a low power mode that a computer is capable of entering automatically after a period of inactivity or by manual selection. In this mode the computer will respond to a wake event. For systems where Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) standards are applicable, a sleep mode usually correlates to Advanced Configuration and Power Interface system level G1/S3 (suspend to RAM) state.‘Psleep’ represents the sleep mode power in Watts as measured according to the procedures in Annex II.
