Continuous Shift Worker An Employee engaged to work in a system of consecutive shifts throughout the 24 hours of each of at least six consecutive days without interruption (except during breakdown or meal breaks or due to unavoidable causes beyond the control of the Company) and who is regularly rostered to work those shifts.
A Continuous Shift Worker is entitled to 5 weeks of paid annual leave for each year of service.
In either case payment in lieu of leave may only occur with the agreement of the Employer and relevant Shift Worker.
For the period, if any, that an Employee is engaged as a Continuous Shift Worker as defined in this Agreement, they will be entitled to a pro- rata accrual of five (5) weeks annual leave per annum for the purposes of the National Employment Standards.
Where the regular day, afternoon or night shift of a Shift Worker is to be changed, the employee shall be given forty-eight (48) hours notice of such change.
