Shift Extension definition

Shift Extension. Shift extension is an extension of an operator’s shift by 2 ½ hours, or less, either before, during lunch break, or after their regularly scheduled shift. (Shift extension is not counted as a “turn” for Mill B employees)
Shift Extension. Where a member is required to extend their regular hours of work.
Shift Extension. Employees who are required to work for more than two hours past their scheduled end of shift, shall be paid a shift extension differential of $3.00 per hour for all hours worked beyond the end of regularly scheduled shift. Such extensions require prior approval of management.

Examples of Shift Extension in a sentence

  • This applies when an employee has ended their normal shift and has left the premises, not to a Shift Extension.

  • Shift Extension When the Department requires non-job basis employees Police Lieutenants to report for work contiguous to their regularly scheduled shift, employees will be compensated at the applicable rate of pay (straight or overtime) per Article 28.

  • IAFF Local 4841 agrees that all Shift Extension and Call-Out worked in accordance with Articles 11.06 and 11.07 shall be paid at the special rate of straight time, the employee’s normal rate of pay.
