In order to take the promotional examination for Training Captain, an applicant shall be an employee of the Middletown Fire Department and shall have been a Shift Captain of the Middletown Fire Department for at least two and one half (2-1/2) years.
In the event that there shall be less than three (3) Lieutenants taking any promotional exam for Shift Captain, the same shall be open to all permanent employees of the Middletown Fire Department with at least seven and one half (7- 1/2) years service on the Middletown Fire Department as of the date of the written examination.
