Shielded definition

Shielded means that a light fixture is designed to ensure that direct or indirect light rays emitted from the fixture are proj- ected below a horizontal plane running through the lowest light-emitting point of the fixture.
Shielded means a fixture that is shielded in such a manner that light rays emitted by the fixture, either directly from the lamp or indirectly from the fixture, are projected below a horizontal plane running through the lowest point on the fixture where light is emitted.
Shielded means that a light fixture is designed to ensure that direct or indirect light rays emitted from the fixture are proj- ected below a horizontal plane running

More Definitions of Shielded

Shielded means that 98 per cent of the lumens emitted from the light fix ture are projected below an imaginary horizontal plane passing through the highest point on the fixture from which light is emitted.
Shielded means the description of a luminaire from which no direct glare is visible at normal viewing angles, by virtue of its being properly aimed, oriented, and located and properly fitted with such devices as shields, barn doors, baffles, louvers, skirts or visors.
Shielded means the light emitted from the fixture is projected below a horizontal plane running through the lowest point of the fixture where light is emitted. The bulb is not visible with a shielded light fixture, and no light is emitted from the sides of the fixture. Also considered a full cut-off fixture.
Shielded means that 100% of the light source is shielded by an opaque material, and that no portion of the bulb extends below the horizontal plane created by the shield. Light shall not radiate sideways through transparent or translucent surfaces.
