SGID definition

Examples of SGID in a sentence

  • Regular faculty shall be evaluated using student feedback (or the bargaining unit member may request an SGID in place of the student feedback), and colleague feedback.

  • The SGID or written student evaluation shall take place after the 10th class day and prior to the 35th class day.

  • All faculty members are encouraged to use the Small Group Instructional Diagnosis (SGID) procedure, or a similar mid-term evaluation or procedure, in at least one course each semester.

  • When a Department Head has concerns about a faculty member’s instructional performance, the Department Head may recommend an SGID, selecting a facilitator who is mutually agreed upon by the faculty member and Department Head.

  • If the SGID is not completed by the 35th class day, written student evaluations will be completed by the 40th class day.

  • The SGID is a formative and not a summative evaluation tool, and is to be administered by a qualified facilitator of the faculty member’s choice.

  • While the results remain confidential between the faculty member and facilitator, it is recommended that the faculty member add the following question to the Montana Tech Course Instruction Evaluation Form: “The quality of teaching improved following the Small Group Instructional Diagnosis (SGID).” This provision does not preclude the addressing of performance concerns through measures other than SGID.

  • During the designated evaluation year, the instructional faculty member will select either written student evaluations or Student Guided Instructional Diagnosis (SGID) for a specified class and quarter.

  • If neither the SGID nor written student evaluations are completed in the agreed upon time frame, this component will not be subject to review until the next evaluation cycle.

  • There are still a number of Utah cities and communities that do not have digitized parcel data stored in the State Geographic Information Database (SGID).
