Settling Basin definition

Settling Basin means a prepared storage area constructed to trap and store sediment from erodible areas in order to protect any streams below the construction areas from excessive siltation; an impoundment that accumulates transported sediment and has provisions for a principal spillway; a reservoir which retains high flows sufficiently to cause deposition of transported sediment.
Settling Basin means a basin designed, constructed, and maintained to remove settleable solids in feedlot runoff by gravity.
