Sessional Instructor definition

Sessional Instructor. (always capitalized) means a person who is not a Faculty Member, who has full or joint responsibility for teaching one or more credit courses and is remunerated on a per course basis.
Sessional Instructor means one hired to fill a Sessional Position. The Sessional Instructor shall be a member of the bargaining unit but shall be covered by only those articles of the Collective Agreement expressly set out in Schedule “H”.
Sessional Instructor means a member of the Bargaining Unit who is a clinical instructor in The School of Nursing or who is Scheduled to teach one (1) or more credit courses during the Fall and Winter semesters provided that teaches no more than per academic year with no more than courses per semester in the Fall and Winter semesters and no more than course in each of Intersession and Summer School. The parties agree that the persons included within the definition of Sessional Instructor are not faculty members holding a full-time appointment as defined in clause and shall have no application to or effect upon Limited Term Appointments in respect of the number of courses required to qualify for appointment to the ranks under clause 54: Teaching duties comprise the only function for sessional instructors. Examples of Sessional Instructor in a sentence

  • The term of appointment of a Sessional Instructor shall normally be four (4) months less a day or in Intersession or Summer Session, two (2) months.

  • A Sessional instructor (non-probationary) who teaches on a per-section basis will move to rates based on Step 7 of the Faculty Schedule after teaching eight (8) sections as a Sessional Instructor.


More Definitions of Sessional Instructor

Sessional Instructor means an Employee who is defined as such under the collective agreement between the University and the Faculty Association, as in effect from time to time.
Sessional Instructor shall refer to an employee of Yukon University within the scope of the bargaining unit who is responsible for teaching credit courses and remunerated on a per- course basis. A Sessional Instructor may be appointed to a specific 3-credit course, or multiple courses. The primary responsibilities of the Sessional Instructor are to prepare and teach courses and programs within their area of competence. Sessional Instructors may be required to compete on open courses or may be assigned a specific course based on previous instructional experience. Sessional Instructors may be offered to teach the same, or similar, course in multiple semesters or in multiple years if the course is offered and performance is satisfactory. When a course scheduled to be taught on a Sessional basis is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, or for other just cause, and the cancellation occurs within the twenty-one (21) day period prior to, but not including, the first scheduled class, the person who was appointed to teach the course will receive 25% of the stipend for the course that has been canceled. If the course is cancelled on or after the first scheduled class, the individual will receive the greater of 25% of the course stipend or the proportion of the course stipend corresponding with the proportion of teaching duties completed. The cancellation fee will not be paid if the individual accepts an offer to teach an alternate course in the same term with an equivalent stipend. The individual will receive a pro-rated fee if offered an alternate course with a smaller stipend.

  • School bus means every motor vehicle owned by a public or governmental agency or private school and operated for the transportation of pupils, children of pupils, teachers and other persons acting in a supervisory capacity, to or from school or school activities, or, privately owned and operated for compensation for the transportation of pupils, children of pupils, teachers and other persons acting in a supervisory capacity to or from school or school activities (Education Law §11[1] and Vehicle and Traffic Law §142).

  • State educational institution means an institution enumerated in Article 12, Section 11 of the constitution of New Mexico;

  • Preschool age child means a child age three through five not yet attending kindergarten. If a child is older than age five and not attending kindergarten or a higher grade, OCCL considers that child in the preschool-age group.

  • Dispatch Instruction has the meaning set forth in the CAISO Tariff.

  • Subscriber Management System means a system or device which stores the subscriber records and details with respect to name, address and other information regarding the hardware being utilized by the subscriber, channels or bouquets of channels subscribed by the subscriber, price of such channels or bouquets of channels as defined in the system, the activation or deactivation dates and time for any channel or bouquets of channels, a log of all actions performed on a subscriber’s record, invoices raised on each subscriber and the amounts paid or discount allowed to the subscriber for each billing period, and which complies with the requirements as set out under Annexure D of this Agreement;

  • MHRD means “Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India.”

  • Qualified instructor means individuals whose training and experience adequately prepare them to carry out specified training assignments. Interpreting physicians, radiologic technologists, or medical physicists who meet the requirements of 41.6(3) would be considered qualified instructors in their respective areas of mammography. Radiological technologists who meet the requirements of 41.6(3) and have passed a state-approved mammography examination such as the examination given by the American Registry of Radiography Technologists would be considered qualified instructors in their respective areas of mammography. The examination would include, but not necessarily be limited to: breast anatomy and physiology, positioning and compression, quality assurance/quality control techniques, and imaging of patients with breast implants. Other examples of individuals who may be qualified instructors for the purpose of providing training to meet the regulations of this chapter include, but are not limited to, instructors in a post-high school training institution and manufacturers’ representatives.

  • Bona fide agency, as used in this clause, means an established commercial or selling agency, maintained by a contractor for the purpose of securing business, that neither exerts nor proposes to exert improper influence to solicit or obtain Government contracts nor holds itself out as being able to obtain any Government contract or contracts through improper influence.

  • Instructional day means a day within the instructional term which meets the following

  • Nonparticipating Financial Institution means a nonparticipating FFI, as that term is defined in relevant U.S. Treasury Regulations, but does not include a [FATCA Partner] Financial Institution or other Partner Jurisdiction Financial Institution other than a Financial Institution identified as a Nonparticipating Financial Institution pursuant to paragraph 2 of Article 5.

  • Designated agency means a contractual relationship

  • School nurse means a registered professional nurse with Maine Department of Education certification for school nursing.

  • Educational Agency means a school district, board of cooperative educational services (BOCES), school, or the New York State Education Department (NYSED).

  • Dispatcher means the same as that term is defined in Section 53-6-102.
