SESAR definition

SESAR means the technological element of the Single European Sky which aims by 2020 to give the EU a high-performance air traffic control infrastructure to enable the safe and environmentally friendly development of air transport;
SESAR means the technical implementation of the Single European Sky which provides a coordinated, synchronised research, development and deployment of the new generations of air traffic management systems;

  • The European Commission shall implement this Attachment on behalf of the EU and may, for that purpose, designate the SESAR Joint Undertaking to execute cooperative activities under this Attachment.
