Since out-of-class pay is an assignment rather than a Civil Service appointment to the position, the employee is not eligible for step increases which apply to the higher level position, but continues to receive step increases for the lower level position, if the employee is otherwise eligible for step increases in the lower level position.
Employees under permanent Civil Service appointment shall receive salary adjustments through the steps of the salary grade plan by completion of actual paid service in total scheduled hours equivalent to one year or six months, whichever is applicable.
