senior master definition
senior master means the person appointed under this Act as the Senior Master of the court. (« conseiller-maître principal »)
senior master means an employee holding a Master Class 1 or person regarded by the employer as holding equivalent competencies and skills. A Senior Master will be extensively experienced on the individual vessel and will have completed formal in-house training to the satisfaction of the employer. Generally such employees will have worked long-term on the vessel and progressed through the Company ranks. A Senior Master appointment will be made via a letter of offer from the Company.
