Senior Adjunct definition

Senior Adjunct one who has been an adjunct faculty member who has been granted the title Senior Adjunct Faculty. To be eligible for the granting of this title, the adjunct faculty member must have taught or worked as a librarian at least one (1) semester per year at the University for seven (7) consecutive academic years or eight (8) nonconsecutive years within the last ten (10) academic years. The individual shall have the right to apply to their department, library or school for the title of "Senior Adjunct Faculty." In those programs that have a trimester schedule, an adjunct faculty member must teach in at least two (2) of the trimesters to maintain years of consecutive service.

Examples of Senior Adjunct in a sentence

  • After the probationary period has ended, an Employee shall be referred to as a Senior Adjunct (SA).

  • If a Senior Adjunct is assigned as a classroom observer under the Adjunct Performance Evaluation Program, he or she shall be compensated $50.00 for his or her efforts.

  • Senior Adjunct Professors may, at their option, perform adjunct faculty reviews for faculty members eligible for their reviews.

  • Faculty members who have previously achieved the rank of Associate Adjunct Professor or Senior Adjunct Professor (previously Lecturer I or II) through adjunct employment will continue to be paid at that rate until promoted as outlined below.

  • Reviews may be conducted by full-time faculty or Senior Adjunct Professors.

  • Upon cancellation or reassignment as defined above, the Associate ▇▇▇▇ will notify the Senior Adjunct, Human Resources and the Union of the cancellation and that the Senior Adjunct has the right to bump as set forth in 5.b below.

  • An Adjunct Faculty member who requests consideration for appointment as Senior Adjunct shall be evaluated on the basis of criteria and procedures previously established by the department, library or school, approved by the appropriate ▇▇▇▇ and the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, and disseminated.

  • Deceased Senior Adjunct Faculty shall be removed from the list as soon as the University becomes aware of the death.

  • Any Senior Adjunct who has experienced a death in the immediate family in a semester that he or she is employed by the College will be permitted up to a total of three (3) personal days in that semester for bereavement.
