Second Medical Opinion definition

Second Medical Opinion means an alternate evaluation of diagnosis or treatment modalities arranged by Us from a Medical Practitioner related to Specified Illnesses or planned Surgery or Surgical Procedure which the Insured Person has been diagnosed or advised to undergo during the Policy Year. The Second Medical Opinion will be arranged by Us solely on the Insured Person’s request.
Second Medical Opinion means a consultation by a health care provider authorized by the medical care coordinator that requires at a minimum a history, an examination, and a straightforward medical decision to confirm or offer alternatives.
Second Medical Opinion. A consultation with a peer requested by the beneficiary, the Participating Psychiatrist or other Provider assess the appropriateness of a previous recommendation for particular mental health condition and treatment.

  • In those cases where, after receiving the Second Medical Opinion, the Insured wishes to travel abroad to receive treatment, information about support services can be obtained by calling the insurance company, although this does not mean that medical assistance will be guaranteed while abroad; this will only be covered when so specifically stated in the Policy and always on the terms and conditions agreed.

  • A refund in accordance with the table in Section 10.2 (a) shall be payable if there is an automatic cancellation of the Policy provided that no claim has been made and e-consultation, Health Check-up, Emergency Assistance Services or Second Medical Opinion have not been availed under the Policy by or on behalf of any Insured Person.

  • Any loss, damage, liability or claims arising from or in connection with acts or omission of any third-party service providers, including without limitation those providing Second Medical Opinion Services and International Emergency Medical Assistance and all other services available to you or the insured under the policy.
