School Sentry definition

School Sentry is a competitive civil service position, and the parties will follow the job description prescribed by the Civil Service Commission. The parties agree that all requirements of the position, including physical capabilities, will be commensurate with the current Civil Service job description and qualifications.

Examples of School Sentry in a sentence

  • If the District determines the need for School Sentry staff during school break periods (Thanksgiving recess, Holiday recess, Midwinter recess, Spring recess) such positions will be filled on a voluntary basis.

  • The District will provide a School Sentry uniform that will be required apparel.

  • In the designation of any mobile Lead School Sentry, the Director of Safety and Security shall consult with building administrators within the respective quadrant(s).

  • The position of Lead School Sentry shall be appointed and shall serve at the discretion of the District from School Sentries currently employed by the District.

  • The Lead School Sentry shall serve as a liaison to the Director of Safety and Security and the building administrator at each applicable location and serve as an intermediary within the chain of command at the building.

  • The Director of Safety and Security shall consult with building administrators at locations where three (3) or more sentries are assigned and will have the option to designate a Lead School Sentry.

  • School Sentries shall have a right to decline appointment to the position of Lead School Sentry or to return to his or her previous position if appointed.

  • The parties agree that School Sentry will be a 10-month position which may also require extension of service during the summer months.

  • The civil service title will not change for any Sentry chosen to be a Lead School Sentry.

  • In the event that a Lead School Sentry is out, a mobile Sentry shall perform the duties of the Lead Sentry if deemed appropriate by the Director of School Security.
