OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer.
HP means horsepower.
MDOT means the Michigan department of transportation.
Sensor means any measurement device that is not part of the vehicle itself but installed to determine parameters other than the concentration of gaseous and particle pollutants and the exhaust mass flow.
Technology Compatibility Kit or "TCK" means the documentation, testing tools and test suites associated with the Specification as may be revised by BEA from time to time, that is provided so that an implementer of the Specification may determine if its implementation is compliant with the Specification.
VAR means a Value Appreciation Right bonus offered to a selected group of senior management and technologists in the Communications Group of CH2M HILL pursuant to the CH2M HILL Communications Group Value Appreciation Incentive Plan, as amended from time to time, and any successor plan.
High-temperature coating means a high performance coating labeled and formulated for application to substrates exposed continuously or intermittently to temperatures above 204 degrees C (400 degrees F).
NOC means National Olympic Committee.
NEC means National Electrical Code. Copies of the NEC are available from the National Fire Protection Association.
Switch means a switching device employed by a Carrier within the Public Switched Network. Switch includes but is not limited to End Office Switches, Tandem Switches, Access Tandem Switches, Remote Switching Modules, and Packet Switches. Switches may be employed as a combination of End Office/Tandem Switches.
Firefighter means a volunteer firefighter or a permanent salaried professional member of any fire department within the State of Oklahoma; and
Waterworks means a system that serves piped water for drinking or domestic use to (i) the public, (ii) at least 15 connections, or (iii) an average of 25 individuals for at least 60 days out of the year. The term "waterworks" shall include all structures, equipment and appurtenances used in the storage, collection, purification, treatment and distribution of pure water except the piping and fixtures inside the building where such water is delivered (see Article 2 (§ 32.1-167 et seq.) of Chapter 6 of Title 32.1 of the Code of Virginia).
Caliper means and refer to a standard trunk diameter measurement for trees. Caliper measurements are taken twelve inches above the finished grade.
API means the American Petroleum Institute.
DSM means the most current edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders published by the American Psychiatric Association.
Catalyst means a substance added to a chemical reaction, which facilitates or causes the reaction, and is not consumed by the reaction.
IBM means the Iowa board of medicine.
Beam axis means a line from the source through the centers of the x-ray fields.
SGM means a special general meeting held in accordance with the constitution of the Competition.

Spectrum Compatibility means the capability of two (2) copper loop transmission system technologies to coexist in the same cable without service degradation and to operate satisfactorily in the presence of cross talk noise from each other. Spectrum compatibility is defined on a per twisted pair basis for specific well-defined transmission systems. For the purposes of issues regarding Spectrum Compatibility, service degradation means the failure to meet the Bit Error Ratio (BER) and Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) margin requirements defined for the specific transmission system for all Loop lengths, model Loops, or loss values within the requirements for the specific transmission system.
Biofuel means ethanol or biodiesel as defined in Iowa Code section 214A.1.
Reseller means an entity authorized by Microsoft to resell Licenses under this program and engaged by an Enrolled Affiliate to provide pre- and post-transaction assistance related to this agreement;
APC means the Ambulatory Payment Classification system under 42 CFR 419.31 used by Medicare for grouping clinically and resource-similar procedures and services.
EMS means emergency medical services.
