Examples of Safe time in a sentence
Safe time: Employees may take safe time if the employee is a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking and time off is needed to attend to safety planning or other actions to assist the employee, such as judicial assistance, medical attention, counseling, etc.
Sick and Safe time may be used without prior notice for illness of an employee or family member, provided the employee has not previously requested that day off and had the request denied by management.
However, such doctor’s note will not excuse the occasion, with the exception of an approved leave of absence or use Sick and Safe time.
If an employee calls in sick on a day previously requested off and denied by management, Sick and Safe time may be used provided the employee furnishes verification of illness if requested by management.
Employees who work less than 20 hours per week, such as on-call employees, will accrue paid sick time in accordance with Minneapolis’s Sick and Safe time Ordinance.
