Runoff Election definition

Runoff Election means any election held pursuant to Section Chapter 2, Subchapter B of the Texas Election Code.
Runoff Election means any single election required by county charters preceded by an election that failed to elect a candidate.
Runoff Election shall have the meaning set forth in Section 5.1(h).

Examples of Runoff Election in a sentence

  • If necessary, any voting changes made by a Participating Political Subdivision between the original election and the Runoff Election shall be submitted by the authority making the change to the United States Department of Justice for the preclearance required by the Federal Voting Rights Act of 1965, as amended.

  • Each Participating Political Subdivision shall reserve the right to reduce the number of Early Voting polling locations and/or Election Day vote centers in a Runoff Election.

  • Each Participating Political Subdivision shall have the option of extending the terms of this contract through its Runoff Election, if applicable.

  • In the event of such Runoff Election, the terms of this contract shall automatically extend unless the Participating Political Subdivision notifies the Elections Administrator in writing within 3 business days of the original election.

  • DCED will provide each Participating Political Subdivision to which this Section 1(d) applies an estimated cost required to be deposited into a special and separate Joint Runoff Election account.

  • Each Participating Political Subdivision agrees to order any Runoff Election(s) at its meeting for canvassing the votes from the May 4, 2024 Joint Election, and to conduct its drawing for ballot positions at, or immediately following, such meeting in order to expedite preparations for its Runoff Election.

  • Each Participating Political Subdivision eligible to hold Runoff Elections after the May 4, 2024 Uniform Election Date agrees that the date of a necessary Runoff Election shall be held in accordance with the Texas Election Code, which will be Saturday, June 15, 2024.

  • If a Runoff Election is required, all cost will be billed to the Participating Political Subdivisions.

  • If a Runoff Election is needed, the Participating Political Subdivisions will work together to choose the Early Voting and Election Day Vote Center locations to best serve their voters in their territory according to the Election Code and/or this contract.

  • Each Participating Political Subdivision eligible to hold Runoff Elections after the May 3, 2025 Uniform Election Date agrees that the date of a necessary Runoff Election shall be held in accordance with the Texas Election Code, which will be Saturday, June 7, 2025.

Runoff Election means an election held pursuant to City Charter Article V Section 9, in the event that no candidate for Mayor, Auditor or Council office receives the votes required by law to be elected to that office in the initial election. The initial election may be either a general election or a special election.
