Right to Representation definition

Right to Representation. An employee has the right, upon request, to have Association representation during any disciplinary proceeding. When an allegation of misconduct is made against an employee and that allegation, if true, could be cause for discipline, the District will take the following steps in the investigative process:
Right to Representation. Any faculty member shall have the right to have an AHE representative present at any meeting or conference when being disciplined or at any meeting or conference which, the employee believes, might reasonably lead to disciplinary action. When a request for such representation is made, no action shall be taken with respect to the faculty member until such representation is present. Such a meeting shall occur within 10 days of a request for representation. If the requested representative is not reasonably available, the employee will select another representative who is available. Exceptions to the 10-day provision are subject to mutual written agreement by the faculty member, AHE and the appropriate administrator.
Right to Representation. The teacher has the right to counsel, representatives or consultants of their own choosing at any conference.
