RF Scout definition

RF Scout under unit type. In Unit Description type the name of the person or vehicle this unit will be associated with. In Unit Address enter the 6 digit MAC ID for the Protrak RF Scout. When complete, press “Save”. The MAC ID can be found on a sticker inside the unit. The MAC ID is the last 6 digits of the number below the barcode. TO DOWNLOAD DATA Attach the RF modem to the computer using the included serial cable. Attach the 12-volt power supply to the RF modem. In order to download data from the PROTRAK RF scout unit, the unit must be within the 1000 foot range. Start the Protrak Scout program by double clicking on the PROTRAK Scout icon on your desktop. When the program starts, click on the unit you created above and click on Download History Log. The software will initialize the RF modem and initiate contact with the unit. It can take up to 5 minutes for the software to make the connection to the unit. Once the software in connected it will automatically start downloading the GPS data. Once the download has completed you will see a message indicating that the download completed successfully. Once the unit is connected, you can change the GPS record interval by clicking the arrow and selecting the desired record interval.
