Restricted entry or exit, definition

Restricted entry or exit, means physical impediment of the body, e.g., use of the hand or a contortion of the body to enter, or exit from, the space. Underground beamline enclosures are not usually considered confined spaces. Enclosures that can be accessed by a ladder with no other access/egress points are considered confined spaces. The Landlord Division Safety Officer (DSO) shall evaluate large-scale excavations on a case-by-case basis.
