We will make every effort to resolve your complaint at first point of contact; however, if we have not done so within 14 days, following the date on which we first received your complaint, we will automatically escalate it to our Complaint Resolution Team on your behalf.
Alternatively, you may request that we escalate your complaint sooner (please use the contact options above, and if you’re mailing a letter to us, please address it to the attention of the Amex Bank of Canada Complaint Resolution Team).
The Final Resolution Team may choose to call in previous or new witnesses including the grievant or supervisor for the purpose of clarification.
All pertinent material regarding the grievance will be provided to the Final Resolution Team, including the arbitrator’s recommendation for resolution.
If either party rejects the resolution recommended by the arbitrator, the matter is referred to the Final Resolution Team.
The Final Resolution Team shall work toward a unanimous decision, but if consensus is not possible, the final decision will be rendered by simple majority vote of all five (5) members.
Within five (5) days of the last meeting, the facilitator, on behalf of the entire Final Resolution Team, will submit its final decision to the Superintendent and grievant.
Only the five (5) Final Resolution Team members should be present during the decision making process.
The grievant or supervisor may request to meet with the Final Resolution Team in the case of new and compelling information.
Shortly thereafter, a member of our Complaint Resolution Team will contact You to obtain additional information and understand Your desired resolution.
