Residence time definition

Residence time means the time required for the products of combustion to travel from the liquid waste burner to the exit of the incinerator or secondary combustion chamber while maintaining the average gas temperature associated with the residence time.
Residence time means, for an afterburner, the duration of time required for gases to pass through the afterburner combus- tion zone. Residence time is calculated by dividing the after- burner combustion zone volume in cubic feet by the volumetric flow rate of the gas stream in actual cubic feet per second.
Residence time means the minimum amount of time that a par- cel of gas is subject to a given temperature.
