CARDIT and RESDIT messages are normally used together, with CARDIT representing the DO's view or intent and RESDIT reporting what the Carrier actually received.
At least 98% of all RESDIT receptacle scan data must be transmitted by the Carrier via EDI to the DO of origin's EDI mailbox as soon as possible but no later than eight hours of the actual scanning event.
RESDIT scanning required will be performed by the Carrier and/or its agent, such as ground handlers at destination, as part of the services provided at the all-inclusive rate.
