Relinquishing an assignment definition
Relinquishing an assignment means to “give up” an assignment. For example, if you accept a position which conflicts with another position (timewise) the Employer will ask you to “relinquish” your original assignment. This means the assignment you “relinquish” or “give up” is no longer yours.
