Relieving Teacher definition

Relieving Teacher means “a teacher employed on a long-term basis (1 month to 1 year) to replace a permanent or long-term relieving teacher granted leave for 1 month or more”.

Examples of Relieving Teacher in a sentence

  • A Casual Relieving Teacher may work the same hours as a full time Teacher or part thereof for a specified period of time greater than three consecutive weeks in any one school year but less than 11 consecutive working weeks.

  • A Casual Relieving Teacher will be assessed in accordance with clause 54 – Assessment of experience and in accordance with clause 11.3 will receive a 20% loading.

  • This may include negotiating to appoint a Permanent Relieving Teacher (PRT) to the vacant position.

  • A Casual Relieving Teacher may work the same hours as a full-time Teacher or part thereof for a specified period of time greater than three consecutive weeks in any one school year but less than 11 consecutive working weeks in a school.

  • Emmaus College appoints Casual Relief Teachers as either:  an Emergency Teacher (on an ad hoc basis for up to 15 consecutive school days), or,  a Relieving Teacher (more than 15 consecutive school days up to 11 weeks) in line with the Victorian Catholic Education Multi Employer Agreement (VCEMEA).
