Relief Shift definition

Relief Shift is defined as a shift that regularly scheduled operations staff are unable to fulfill for various reasons such as training, vacation, lieu, sick leave etc… An Operator that holds a valid MOE (Treatment) License at a Class I or greater, or, an individual that holds a valid MOE OIT (Treatment) License that has received adequate/appropriate training and is deemed capable of operating a treatment facility by their manager, can perform Relief duties. System: is defined as including all treatment facilities within the Water and Wastewater Services Division of the Region. Area: is defined as a specific group of facilities within the system. Facility: is defined as a single, specific plant within the area.
Relief Shift means when an employee voluntarily agrees to work additional hours for part or all of a Shift in addition to their usual Roster. Roster means a roster arrangement made up of ▇▇▇▇▇▇ and Rostered Off periods in accordance with the roster pattern(s) in Appendix 1, or an alternative roster pursuant to clause 6 of this Agreement.

Examples of Relief Shift in a sentence

  • A Relief Shift Assignment shall be offered on a rotating basis to Nurses on the Work Area Specific Casual List.

  • If these assignments do not involve changing starting times or days off, the Bureau has the authority to utilize Monday through Friday “A” Shift Operators or the Relief Shift Operators.

  • In addition, will fill a Relief designation as outlined in Titles 202, 205 and 208 - Utilization of Relief Shift Employees.

  • Shift for a Nurse on-call will normally accept the on- call assignment, provided the Nurse was notified at the time the Relief Shift was offered.

  • Relief Shift employees on a flexible schedule will have established core hours normally consisting of five (5) consecutive work days followed by two (2) consecutive days off and when required, the relief employee can be scheduled to cover an open alternate shift.

  • Roving Operators may be required to relieve an absent shift employee under the provisions of Section "D" of the Relief Shift Agreement.

  • Utility Operators may be required to relieve an absent shift employee under the provisions of Section "D" of the Relief Shift Agreement.

  • The Patrol Officer filling the Relief Shift shall be subject to changes in shift to accommodate such time off requests, continuing education, vacations, illnesses and the like.

  • In the event less notice is given for a cancelled Relief Shift, the Part-Time Employee shall be provided with work or be paid for the cancelled Relief Shift.
