Regular Medical Treatment definition

Regular Medical Treatment means a Medical Expense provided by a Physician or at a Facility that is neither Emergency Treatment nor Approval-Required Treatment. So long as provided by a Physician or at a Facility, approval of the Committee or its designee is not required prior to any Regular Medical Treatment in order for Medical Benefits to be paid for such a Medical Expense.

  • In order to “file” a claim for Medical Benefits for Approval-Required Treatment and for Regular Medical Treatment, a Participant or Participant’s authorized representative must also comply with the requirements of Section III, Paragraph A, Subparagraph 2 and submit to any and all examinations required by the Committee.

RETAIL CLINIC is a medical clinic licensed to provide limited services, generally located in a retail store, supermarket or pharmacy. A retail clinic provides vaccinations and treats uncomplicated minor illnesses such as colds, ear infections, minor wounds or abrasions.

  • Overseas treatment means treatments or appliances provided or sourced from outside of Australia. This includes treatment on cruise ships inside or outside Australian waters.

  • Life-sustaining treatment means treatment that, based on reasonable medical judgment, sustains the life of a patient and without which the patient will die. The term includes both life-sustaining medications and artificial life support such as mechanical breathing machines, kidney dialysis treatment, and artificially administered nutrition and hydration. The term does not include the administration of pain management medication, the performance of a medical procedure necessary to provide comfort care, or any other medical care provided to alleviate a patient's pain.

The medical review and direction included in an assisted outpatient treatment plan shall be provided under the supervision of a psychiatrist.
