Regional projects definition
Regional projects means water quality projects of regional significance and financed in whole or in part with Water Quality Fee revenues, that address pollutant loads from more than one Municipality, or are part of a plan that treats an entire reach of a river or subwatershed. Regional projects may be individual projects or a network of small projects.

More Definitions of Regional projects
Regional projects means those projects where more than one municipality have agreed to jointly treat sewage, sludge, or septage from at least a portion of their respective municipalities. The project must serve a substantial portion of the municipality where only sewers are to be constructed and the interconnection must be an identified alternative to construction of an additional treatment facility. All components of the regional project must be eligible for State water pollution abatement funds. Before the Department can accept projects as a regional system, an acceptable inter-municipal agreement must be signed by the municipalities involved, or the project applicant must be a multi-municipal Fire District, Consolidated Sewer District, or Solid Waste District created under authority of Vermont Statutes.
Regional projects means water quality projects of regional significance that are carried out by Watershed Authority Groups and financed in whole or in part with Water Quality Fee revenues, and that affect a combined tributary area exceeding one hundred (100) acres of land, address pollutant loads from more than one Municipality, or are part of a plan that treats an entire reach of a river or subwatershed. Regional projects are to be developed in collaboration with Municipalities and stakeholders, taking into account factors such as the collective impact of a variety of pollutant sources and planning for the entire watershed area rather than individual local areas.
Regional projects or “Regional Programs” shall mean projects or programs identified in an IRWM Plan that accomplish any of the objectives identified in the IRWM Planning Act, including in Water Code section 10537.
