Refereed definition

Refereed here means that the scholarly work is evaluated by an expert in the field, whether an editor or editorial board for a journal, or a distinguished scholar asked to pass judgment at the request of a journal’s editor or of the contributor.

  • Dispute Board (DB) means the person or persons named as such in the SCC appointed by agreement between the Procuring Entity and the Contractor to make a decision with respect to any dispute or difference between the Procuring Entity and the Contractor referred to him or her by the Parties pursuant to GCC Sub-Clause 46.1 (Dispute Board) hereof.

  • Appellate Decision-maker means a person who considers and decides appeals of determinations regarding responsibility and dismissals of formal complaints. The Appellate Decision-maker cannot be the same person as the Title IX Coordinator, Investigator, or Decision-maker. The Appellate Decision-maker may be a school district employee, or a third party designated by the school district.

  • Initiating tribunal means the tribunal of a state or foreign country from which a petition or comparable pleading is forwarded or in which a petition or comparable pleading is filed for forwarding to another state or foreign country.

  • Umpire means the third arbitrator appointed pursuant to Section 7.03 (c).

  • Subject Matter Expert means a person who has working or expert knowledge about a particular topic or field.

  • Arbitration Board has the meaning set forth in Section 9.10.

  • Neutral Accountant means a national independent accounting firm selected by Buyer and reasonably acceptable to Sellers.

  • Reconciliation Dispute has the meaning set forth in Section 7.9 of this Agreement.
