Reduction of Force applies to an employee released from his job through no fault of his own.
Reduction of Force applies to an employee released from his job through no fault of his own. The term “Layoff” applies only to an employee released from the Company owing 10.40 to his inability to be reassigned in accordance with the provisions of paragraphs 10.46 to 10.58 inclusive. Short term Reduction of Force and/or Layoff is a period of time exceeding two (2) 10.41(a) working days and less than twenty-one (21) working days. In situations where reduced operations may result in an up-to-five (5) day 10.41(b) such leaves are at the discretion of the Company. An employee affected by a short term Reduction of Force and/or Layoff may be 10.42 reassigned by the Company in accordance with Section 1 of Article 10. Employees wishing reassignment under paragraph 10.42 must report to the Human 10.43 Force and/or Layoff. An indefinite Reduction of Force and/or Layoff is a period of time in excess of 10.44

Examples of Reduction of Force in a sentence

  • In Reduction of Force any Full Time Fuelers will have the option of exercising his Seniority into Part Time Fuelers position or he may accept furlough.

  • The Board’s decision to non-renew a teacher in a Reduction of Force shall not be arbitrary or capricious.

  • An indefinite Reduction of Force and/or Layoff is a period of time in excess of twenty (20) working days.

  • For purposes of Reduction of Force, a retired teacher will be the first to be reduced in force under Article 25 and will remain at “0” years of seniority.

  • The Union and Employer agree that a seniority list showing the date of hire as stated in the Reduction of Force Article Section 1, and the date of the last promotion shall be established and brought up-to-date annually and made available to all Employees.

  • For the purpose of information only, the Board policy for Reduction of Force is as follows: The Board of Education reserves the right under State law to abolish unilaterally any existing position in whole or in part and to reduce the number of employees in any category for reasons of economy, reduction in number or pupils, change in administrative or supervisory organization or other good cause.
