RD&E Framework’ definition

RD&E Framework’ means the National Primary Industries Research, Development and Extension Framework – Statement of Intent. ‘RDCs’ means the statutory and industry-owned research and development corporations declared under the Primary Industries Research and Development Act 1989 (Cth) and industry specific enabling legislation. ‘Research and Development’ means systematic experimentation and analysis in any field of science, technology, economics or business (including the study of the social or environmental consequences of the adoption of new technology) carried out with the object of: acquiring knowledge that may be of use in achieving or furthering an objective of the Industry, including knowledge that may be used for the purpose of improving any aspect of the production, processing, storage, transport or marketing of the Industry’s products; or goods that are derived from the Industry’s products; or applying such knowledge for the purpose of achieving or furthering such an objective, including through Extension. ‘Research and Development Activity’ means an activity that is carried out by DA or with its support for the purposes of Research and Development.
