quality report means the publicly available report that includes relevant and useful information about the provision of safe quality care provided in individual Joint Commission–accredited and –certified organizations. Quality Reports are created at the organization level and contain information regarding an organization’s accreditation or certification status. These reports provide detailed information about an organization’s performance and how it compares to that of similar organizations; the organization’s accreditation and/or certification decision and the effective dates of the accreditation/certification award; the last full survey/review date and last survey/review date; programs accredited and/or services certified by The Joint Commission, and programs or services accredited by other accrediting bodies; compliance with The Joint Commission’s National Patient Safety Goals; special quality awards, and for hospitals, performance on National Quality Improvement Goals. If an organization has achieved both Joint Commission certification and accreditation, its Quality Report will contain both certification and accreditation information; the organizations will also have a separate Certification Quality Report.
