Qualified Physicians definition

Qualified Physicians means one or more physicians or health care professionals providing service to patients in a health care facility owned, operated or managed by the Company or any of its Subsidiaries.

  • Whether Employee is Permanently Disabled shall be certified to the Company by a Qualified Physician (as hereinafter defined), or if requested by Employee a panel of three Qualified Physicians.

  • The Employee and the Company may, in any instance, and in lieu of a determination by a Qualified Physician or a panel of Qualified Physicians, agree between themselves that the Employee is disabled for purposes of this Section 4.4, in which event the parties understand and agree that any such determination shall only be applicable for purposes of this Agreement.

  • In the performance of the work, duties, and obligations of Contractor under this Agreement, it is mutually understood and agreed that Contractor and each of its Qualified Physicians are at all times acting and performing as independent contractors, practicing medicine, or providing for the delivery of medical services.

  • In the event that utilization review and quality management activities are the sole responsibility of Company, Company shall fully advise Contractor of the methods used and underlying information relied on to develop, implement, and manage or monitor utilization and quality on an ongoing basis, and shall develop a mechanism to allow Qualified Physicians to participate in the development of utilization review and quality management ongoing assessment and evaluation.

  • Otherwise, all other information, including the general manner by which Contractor is paid under this Agreement and the general terms and conditions of this Agreement, may be shared with non-parties in the reasonable and prudent judgment of the Parties to this Agreement or Qualified Physicians.

  • Specialist Physician means a licensed physician who qualifies as an attending physician and who examines a patient at the request of the attending physician or authorized nurse practitioner to aid in evaluation of disability, diagnosis, or provide temporary specialized treatment. A specialist physician may provide specialized treatment for the compensable injury or illness and give advice or an opinion regarding the treatment being rendered, or considered, for a patient’s compensable injury.
