Pump test definition

Pump test means a field experiment in which a well is pumped at a controlled rate and water-level response (drawdown) is measured in one or more surrounding observation wells and optionally in the pumped well itself. Response data from pumping tests are used to estimate the hydraulic properties of aquifers, evaluate well performance, and identify aquifer boundaries.
Pump test means to withdraw water from a well at a constant or stepped rate while measuring the drawdown in the well at specific time intervals for a specific period of time.
Pump test means the procedure used to determine the yield characteristics of a water well by installing and operating a pump for an extended period of time.

Examples of Pump test in a sentence

  • Pump test results indicated that flow characteristics of the Main Sand vary considerably across the FAB Resource Area.

More Definitions of Pump test

Pump test means a department-approved test for pumping from a well at controlled rate(s) for a specified duration while water levels are accurately measured at given frequencies in the pumping well and observation well(s).
Pump test means a test that is conducted to determine the characteristics of a well or an aquifer by pumping the well at a known discharge rate and measuring the amount of drawdown of the water level in the well;
Pump test means a test involving the withdrawal at a constant discharge rate of measured quantities of water from a well and the measurement of resulting changes in water level in the aquifer both during and after the period of discharge for the purpose of determining the characteristics of the aquifer.
Pump test means a test involving the withdrawal, at a constant discharge rate, of measured quantities of Groundwater from a Well and the measurement of resulting changes in Groundwater level in an Aquifer both during and after the period of discharge, for the purpose of determining the characteristics of an Aquifer.

Related to Pump test

  • EPP test Means one EPP command sent to a particular “IP address” for one of the EPP servers. Query and transform commands, with the exception of “create”, shall be about existing objects in the Registry System. The response shall include appropriate data from the Registry System. The possible results to an EPP test are: a number in milliseconds corresponding to the “EPP command RTT” or undefined/unanswered.

  • DNS test Means one non-‐recursive DNS query sent to a particular “IP address” (via UDP or TCP). If DNSSEC is offered in the queried DNS zone, for a query to be considered answered, the signatures must be positively verified against a corresponding DS record published in the parent zone or, if the parent is not signed, against a statically configured Trust Anchor. The answer to the query must contain the corresponding information from the Registry System, otherwise the query will be considered unanswered. A query with a “DNS resolution RTT” 5 times higher than the corresponding SLR, will be considered unanswered. The possible results to a DNS test are: a number in milliseconds corresponding to the “DNS resolution RTT” or, undefined/unanswered.

  • RDDS test Means one query sent to a particular “IP address” of one of the servers of one of the RDDS services. Queries shall be about existing objects in the Registry System and the responses must contain the corresponding information otherwise the query will be considered unanswered. Queries with an RTT 5 times higher than the corresponding SLR will be considered as unanswered. The possible results to an RDDS test are: a number in milliseconds corresponding to the RTT or undefined/unanswered.

  • Test means such test as is prescribed by the particulars or considered necessary by the Inspecting Officer whether performed or made by the Inspecting Officer or any agency acting under the direction of the Inspecting Officer;
