PTTW definition

PTTW means a Permit to Take Water under the Ontario Water Resources Act and any applicable regulations, which is applicable to at least part of the Potential Well Interference Area.

  • The proponent is not required to have the various approvals and permits prior to being granted a licence or permit, but they are required prior to starting operations, or in the case of the Permit to Take Water program (PTTW), prior to the start of taking water.

  • Anyone taking more than 50,000 litres of water a day, with some exceptions, must obtain a PTTW from the MOE.

  • Permit to take water (PTTW) from the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP).

  • Specific tasks include pre-consultation with the Ministry of Environment for the ECA (Environmental Compliance Approval) application, as well as discussions with the local and district MOE and MNR offices if a Permit to Take Water (PTTW) application is required.
