PTDF definition

PTDF means a measure of the responsiveness or change in electrical loadings on Transmission Facilities due to a change in electric power transfer from one area to another, expressed in percent (up to 100%) of the change in power transfer in the pre-contingency configuration of a system under study.
PTDF or ‘’ means a power transfer distribution factor;

Examples of PTDF in a sentence

  • Core TSOs and the majority of Core regulatory authorities13 disagreed with ACER’s proposal to keep the PTDF threshold of 5% as one of the preconditions for the conversion of XNECs to CNECs. According to the parties, all network elements considered in the ROSC process should be able to be considered in the capacity calculation, if necessary.

  • The current cut-off used for calculating transfer capability is 3% for OTDF Flowgates and 5% for PTDF Flowgates.

  • Power Transfer Distribution Factor (PTDF) - The percentage of power transfer flowing through a facility or a set of facilities for a particular transfer when there are no contingencies.Outage Transfer Distribution Factor (OTDF) - The percentage of a power transfer that flows through the monitored facility for a particular transfer when the contingency facility is switched out of service.

  • Transmission Service Requests (“TSRs”) IntervalsTSRs are evaluated, respecting queue order, based on their impact on all Flowgates in the AFC process, such that the impact is greater than the cutoff of 3% for OTDF Flowgates and 5% for PTDF Flowgates.

  • ACER has carefully considered the Core TSOs’ proposal to allow for an exceptional inclusion of XNECs from CROSA in the final list of CNECs, regardless of their PTDF threshold.

  • CREG maintained its opposition to the option of converting XNECs with PTDF <5% into CNECs since, in CREG’s view, it would not be consistent with Article 29(3)(b) of the CACM Regulation.

  • Provisional Interconnection Agreement Limit Methodology The MISO methodology for calculating operating limits for all generators requesting interconnection service by executing a PGIA uses a two-pronged approach as follows: A MUST DC transfer analysis will calculate DFs of all generators that have greater than 20% (OTDF) and a 5% (PTDF) impacts on all constraints.

  • The Core TSOs therefore proposed to allow for exceptional conversion of the XNECs from the current Core ICS process prior to Core ROSC go-live, also without a PTDF threshold.

  • In principle, if there was a security issue on a XNEC with low sensitivity to cross-zonal transactions (and hence with a maximum zone-to-zone PTDF below 5%), this would be primarily due to internal transactions causing internal flows on that XNEC.

  • The PTDF will seek to ensure that resources are used to address PACPs' regional and national needs in an effective and timely manner and with minimum duplication.

More Definitions of PTDF

PTDF or ‘𝑃𝑇𝐷𝐹’ means a power transfer distribution factor;
PTDF means a power transfer distribution factor which describes the impact of a bidding- zone net position or of a commercial exchange between two bidding-zones on a CNEC, as computed in the implemented CCM. In case the implemented CCM does not define how to compute PTDFs, these factors should be computed pursuant to Article 11 of the Core DA CCM.
