PSM Technology definition

PSM Technology means a use of two masks, or reticles, for defining a layer of material in an integrated circuit. The first mask or reticle has phase shifting areas in an opaque field for defining at least a transistor gate. The second mask or reticle has opaque areas and clear areas. The opaque areas define an interconnect structure in the layer to interconnect the transistor gate with other structures in the layer. The opaque areas also prevent erasure of the transistor gate. The clear areas further define the interconnect structure.
