prominent public function means any of the following public functions:
prominent public function means any of the following public functions: ▪ heads of State, heads of government, ministers and deputy or assistant ministers; ▪ members of parliament or of similar legislative bodies; ▪ members of the governing bodies of political parties; ▪ members of supreme courts, of constitutional courts or of other high-level judicial bodies whose decisions are not subject to further appeal, except in exceptional circumstances; ▪ members of courts of auditors or of the boards of central banks; ▪ ambassadors, chargés d' affaires and high-ranking officers in the armed forces; ▪ members of the administrative, management or supervisory bodies of State-owned enterprises; ▪ directors, deputy directors and members of the board or equivalent function of an international organization; ▪ mayor; provided that no public function referred in the above points shall be understood as covering middle-ranking or more junior officials and whereas the term “close relatives” of a PEP includes the following:
prominent public function means any public function at levels of government and public service which allow an individual to make decisions, give approvals or to exercise judgment, discretion and influence; in relation to any one or any combination of any of the following functions: (a) budget allocation and expenditure management; (b) project development, creation, approval,implementation; (c) allocation of public/state subsidies and grants; (d) advising on, and management of, procurement and logistics operations; (e) allocation or the granting of licenses; (f) involvement in regulatory approval or imposing of administrative or other sanctions; (g) provision of public goods and utilities; (h) prosecution and judicial actions; (i) military activities; (j) diplomatic activities; (k) tax revenue collection and administration; (l) any other public function for which there is a potential for bribery, abuse of power, influence peddling and illicit enrichment.

prominent public function or “prominent function” means—
prominent public function means the head of a country, government minister, senior politician, senior judge, governor of a central bank, ambassador, high commissioner, high ranking member of the armed forces or senior position of state enterprise in any overseas country.
prominent public function means:(i) Head of State or head of a country or government; or(ii) government minister or equivalent senior politician; or(iii) Supreme Court Judge or equivalent senior Judge; or(iv) governor of a central bank or any other position that has comparable influence to the Governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand; or(v) senior foreign representative, ambassador, or high commissioner; or(vi) high-ranking member of the armed forces; or(vii) board chair, chief executive, or chief financial officer of, or any other position that has comparable influence in, any State enterprise. If the company has more than two beneficial owners please provide additional details on a separate piece of paper that is marked with the name of the company and company number and include it with this Identification Form.
